The History of G Plan

The foundations for G Plan furniture were laid by Ebenezer Gomme in 1898, when, working in a cramped artisan's workshop, he began creating exquisite handcrafted furniture. Later, his grandson, Donald, joined E.Gomme Limited, and in 1953, the family firm became known as G Plan.

From these new beginnings came a design that would span the generations and create some of the 20th Century's most-iconic and enduring furniture. Throughout the decades, G Plan has stood firmly at the forefront of style.

Times have undoubtedly changed since 1898, but the reasons for investing in a G Plan original have not. Their continued commitment to design excellence means that they're still creating outstanding style-setting pieces that will grace any home.
