Showroom Manager


Haskins furniture is an independent, family run business that pride itself on exceeding customer expectations. We have 81 years of furniture experience, and we always go the extra mile for our customers. We are looking for an ambitious Showroom Manager.


In this role, you will set the tone for your showroom, where customers can journey through their buying experience feeling relaxed and looked after. Haskins Furniture offer big named furniture brands and our customers expect the very best service. We are looking for an individual that can achieve maximum sales and net profitability through; effective staff motivation, management and all processes and procedures established, whilst reinforcing the company values.


Required skills & experience


We are looking for a natural leader who can motivate and support our sales team. We are looking for someone with passion where you will promote our products and achieve sales in the correct way. We require someone who is flexible and able to cover store opening hours on a rota basis, including weekends and bank holidays. The role will also include unlocking and locking Haskins Retail Centre.


It is essential that you have previous experience with managing a sales team and a showroom of high-quality products with excellent sales skills, communication skills and are able to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision. Target driven retail experience, ideally from within a luxury retail or showroom environment is required.


The ideal person will have the ability to identify and understand business opportunities and build long term relationships with customers and suppliers as well as internal relationships with senior managers and directors.


The Showroom Manager will be able to receive deliveries and arranges goods on display and carry out stock checks. Stock control is vital, and the Showroom Manager will be expected to maintain the stock level set out by Directors. It is essential that the Showroom Manager is able to assist in loading and unloading stock deliveries, verifies and reports the accuracy of deliveries and accurately takes stock at the end of each accounting period in accordance with instructions from the Directors.


The showroom Manager will delegate tasks to ensure very good housekeeping is maintained (e.g. cleaning of shop floor, ensuring POS is displayed, tickets are up to date and correct etc). Products must be merchandised to a high standard.


IT literate and good administration skills with experience using Microsoft packages such as Teams, Outlook, Excel and Word. The Showroom Manager will be required to produce reports and report data to senior managers as well as drawing conclusions from data to drive the business forward.


Customer service skills and experience is essential with 3 years minimum of managing a sale team.


Experience in selling furniture is desirable but not essential as training will be given.


A good understanding of Health and safety with experience of implementing safety measures is essential and as part of this role the showroom manager will be a part of the H&S team.
