Haskins Furniture dates back to the 1930s and grew rapidly, in particular through the 1960s and ‘70s, when the famous tag line emblazened across all its vehicles was “The largest furnishers in the West”.

Furnishing tens of thousands of homes throughout the region, Haskins Furniture is an iconic West Country name.

The headquarters and main store have always been based in Shepton Mallet and Haskins Furniture has traded from its present site since 1969! For many years it also had a branch at the Gardiners building in Bristol, as a tenant to Gardiner Sons & Co until March 2009.

At this time, the orginal family owners exited furniture retail, selling the furniture business in Shepton Mallet to its Managing Director, Garry Preston. Now trading as Haskins Furniture Shepton Mallet Ltd, it is an independent furniture, upholstery and bed retailer, and is still Somerset’s largest furniture store. It operates as one of a number of concessions, including EWM, Bristol Carpets, and Goodfellows Cafe and Restaurant, plus many others, from the massive 100,000sq ft plus retail centre in the heart of Shepton Mallet.

We also offer a white glove delivery service, with all goods unwrapped, set up, and all packaging removed and recycled, by our own employed specialist-trained delivery crews.

Our Ercol gallery is one of the largest displays of the prestigious producer’s cabinet and upholstery in the United Kingdom, whilst our Old Charm Centre of Excellence is the only one in the country and is the most-comprehensive display of their craftsmanship.
