About Relyon

Natural fillings are the key ingredient in making the most sumptuous mattress

At Relyon we really know and understand natural fibres as we began life in 1858 as a wool merchant in the Somerset town of Wellington.

Relyon's superior product quality has been recognised with a number of awards

In 1994 Relyon was the first bed manufacturer to be awarded with The Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers’ highly prestigious Manufacturing Guild Mark. Relyon remains only one of five major bed manufacturers to have achieved Guild Mark status.

The Guild Mark along with Relyon’s ISO9000 certification can reassure you that you are investing in the best products on the market.

Choosing a Bed

A bed is the most important piece of furniture we buy.

The correct way to choose your bed

Test how well the bed supports your spine lie on your back and try to slide your hand into the small of your back:

Too soft Mattress Support

Too Soft:
You will find it hard to slide your hand into the small of your back

Too firm Mattress

Too Firm:
You will find it easy to slide your hand into the small of your back

Correct Mattress Support

Correct Support:
A snug fit means the support offered by the mattress is ideal

We spend roughly a third of our lives in bed, between six and eight hours each night.

Beds can be large or small, firm or soft, however, if they are uncomfortable your health and wellbeing suffer. The National Bed Federation recommends that a bed is changed every ten years. People often keep them well beyond this and then have to replace them for all the wrong reasons such as back pain, worn cover, tired fillings, exposed springs and lack of support. A bed is rarely changed because it has reached the end of its ten year life span.

Choosing and buying a bed is an intensely personal choice.

Finding the right combination of both the bed and mattress will give the ultimate degree of support to suit your needs. Many people think that buying a new mattress will give them a brand new bed. However, it's very important to establish the condition and type of the customer's existing base. If it is old - the new mattress will follow its worn contours thus bringing no improvement.
