Westbridge Furniture Design operates out of four UK production sites occupying in excess of 450,000 square feet of production, design and office space, employing over 1300 people in the UK and also their dedicated cut and sew factory in Romania. They manufacture in excess of 10,000 pieces of upholstery per week.

They have a vast and diverse range of over 1200 fabrics and leathers which are widely sourced throughout Europe and Asia. Their fabric stores stock in excess of 300,000 metres of cover in readiness for quick and on time delivery.

At Westbridge they take their social responsibility very seriously and with consumers becoming increasingly environmentally conscious, a brands’ sustainability credentials are becoming vital, providing an extra angle with which to engage customers on shop floors – their leading credentials have definitely strengthened their relationship with the large UK group retailers.
In 2006 they started their Eco journey to become the first ‘Model Green Factory’ in the UK in partnership with Marks & Spencer. With their initial goals to reduce their carbon footprint and send zero waste to landfill achieved, they have set the standard to which many are compared and as such have hosted many tours for both retail staff and suppliers. Quite a number of the visitors have gone on to implement similar changes in their organisations. This information sharing is something they are very proud of as, if they’re serious about the environment, then of course it’s very important to share their learning.
Not wanting to ‘rest on their laurels’, they have had continued success reducing the amount of material that becomes waste, rather than recycling it. For example reusable transport packaging for supplies into Westbridge, rather than single-use cardboard, or polythene packaging. With their initial objectives completed they have set new targets – striving to improve efficiencies and establishing recycling initiatives with local businesses, in turn supporting the local economy.
