Featuring traditional spindle details and a simple, backrest created from a singular piece of carved wood. Arched steam-bent ash rods stabilize the armrests, and webbing adds strength and support to the base ready to welcome visitors to take a seat. With soft, rounded edges and gently tapered feet, the Studio Couch creates a sense of comfort and calm allowing for restful moments of relaxation, and contemplation. The iconic everyday Butterfly chair was launched in 1956. The Butterfly chair features a steam bent backrest and seat creating a distinctive dining chair which is as supportive as it is stylish. Along with traditional Windsor wedge and tenon joinery, a technique in which the chair’s legs are extended through the seat and secured with a wedge. These joints are then sanded until they lie flush with the seat to create a strong and durable base, built to withstand the demands of daily life. Made from ash timber the chair is available in a selection of finishes that can complement any room. Also, now available for added comfort is the Butterfly chair with an upholstered seat, fabrics can be chosen from the ercol collection.
