Designed by Lucian Ercolani in 1956, the Studio Couch has always been a charming and practical addition to any home. It is a nostalgic and standout piece from ercol’s early design portfolio. Featuring traditional spindle details and a simple, backrest created from a singular piece of carved wood. Arched steam-bent ash rods stabilize the armrests, and webbing adds strength and support to the base ready to welcome visitors to take a seat. With soft, rounded edges and gently tapered feet, the Studio Couch creates a sense of comfort and calm allowing for restful moments of relaxation, and contemplation. Constructed in solid ash, the Studio Couch is offered in a selection of bespoke finishes, including a soothing natural finish, with fabrics available from the ercol collection.

Loosely inspired by the silhouette of the Windsor chair, the Loveseat is a striking statement piece full of attractive curves, tapered leg and spindles combine with a curved back rail. The solid ash seat is sculptured to provide a comfortable seat perfect for two. Manufactured in solid ash, the Loveseat is available in a selection of finishes.

The iconic everyday Butterfly chair was launched in 1956. The Butterfly chair features a steam bent backrest and seat creating a distinctive dining chair which is as supportive as it is stylish. Along with traditional Windsor wedge and tenon joinery, a technique in which the chair’s legs are extended through the seat and secured with a wedge. These joints are then sanded until they lie flush with the seat to create a strong and durable base, built to withstand the demands of daily life. Made from ash timber the chair is available in a selection of finishes that can complement any room. Also, now available for added comfort is the Butterfly chair with an upholstered seat, fabrics can be chosen from the ercol collection.

With roots dating back to 1944, the chair’s seamless silhouette is achieved by steam-bending a single piece of timber to create a flowing, uninterpreted line that stretches all the way around the backrest. Featuring a removable back cushion for added comfort. This chair is available in 6 wood stains and 1 painted finishes, the upholstered seat and back cushion is offered in a selection of fabrics from the ercol collection.
